Meet the Pastor

davewife small

Reverend Dave Poolman has been a pastor in the Christian Reformed Church for 28 years. He attended Calvin College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history. He then went on to attend Calvin Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree. Since that time he has served a church in New Jersey and two churches in Michigan before coming to Avery Street.

Pastor Dave enjoys the study and preparation that goes into preaching and teaching, and loves Sunday worship. If he’s not studying, he can often be found visiting or praying with folks from the church or community. Additionally, he enjoys spending time getting to know and encourage people of all ages and backgrounds. Pastor Dave and his wife, Deb, have been married for over 25 years. They have four rapidly-growing children and one usually-well-behaved dog.
